We don’t want any groups of people to be left out of the project. That’s why we will ask you some questions about yourself. We will make sure that everything you tell us is stored safely.

The data controller for this project is University College London (UCL). The UCL Data Protection Officer oversees UCL activities involving the processing of personal data.

This local privacy notice sets out the information that applies to this particular study. Further information on how UCL uses participant information from research studies can be found in UCL’s general privacy notice here. The information that is required to be provided to research participants under data protection legislation (GDPR and DPA 2018) is provided across both the local and general privacy notices.

We will be collecting personal data - adult contributors’ name and email, and the name and email of parents/legal guardians giving consent. We will also collect child contributors’ first (given) name, and all contributors’ city, town or village of residence, gender, age, ancestry/ethnic or cultural background, and disability, if you choose to share these details. The legal basis for processing your personal data is ‘task carried out in the public interest’. As some of this information data is defined as ‘special category’ data, the legal basis for processing it is ‘for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific research purposes or statistical purposes'.

Your personal data will be processed for the research project and in the long-term preservation of the data.
